Full Circle Love: Laura & Ryan’s Couple Spotlight

Some love stories feel like they were meant to return home. For Laura and Ryan, their wedding wasn’t just a celebration of their future, it was a beautiful tribute to their past.

Their journey began right here in Easthampton, tucked among the very mill buildings that now house The Boylston Rooms. What started as a casual first date grew into a life-changing moment. One that would come full circle five years later in the most meaningful way.

From First Date to Forever

Laura and Ryan’s first date was the kind that just kept going. They started with a beer at Abandoned Building Brewery, wandered through Eastworks, played mini golf at Prodigy, had dinner at The Hideaway, and ended their night at New City Brewery, cheering on the Red Sox as they won the World Series. Spontaneous, joyful, and effortless, it was the kind of evening you never forget.

Five years later, Ryan planned a perfect surprise: a recreation of that unforgettable first date. They revisited each of the places that marked the start of their love story. But the real magic happened once they returned home where, with the help of their two dogs, Ryan proposed. “It was heartfelt, personal, and perfectly us,” Laura shared.

Why The Boylston Rooms Felt Like Home

Choosing The Boylston Rooms felt like the most natural step in their story. “The Pleasant Street Mill Buildings have played such a meaningful role in our relationship,” Laura said. “So, I knew from the start that I wanted to get married there.”

Even though they had other tours scheduled, The Boylston Rooms was the first venue they visited and the last. After meeting Erin and Myles, Laura and Ryan felt instantly at home. “Their warmth, flexibility, and the thoughtful options they offer made the decision easy.”

Laura, who values sustainability, was especially grateful for the venue’s extensive decor catalog. “Being able to create a beautiful day with less waste meant a lot to me.”

Their vision? Something timeless and elegant. With help from the Boylston Rooms team, that vision became a reality.

Favorite Moments from the Day

There were so many stand-out memories, but Laura and Ryan both agreed: the most powerful moments were the ones that brought stillness and connection.

“Our first look was incredibly emotional,” Laura said. “And the quiet time we shared after the ceremony, just the two of us, gave us space to breathe and reflect before jumping into the rest of the celebration.”

And of course, hopping on the Wedding Day Trolley for photos was a joyful highlight.

Despite a few behind-the-scenes hiccups, a dress issue, delayed arrivals, and unpredictable weather, everything ran smoothly thanks to the Boylston Rooms team. “Even weeks later, I’m still in awe of how flawless everything felt,” Laura said. “We felt completely at ease and able to enjoy every moment.”

Advice for Other Couples

Laura had one big takeaway from the planning process: let go of the little things.

“I jumped headfirst into planning and obsessed over every detail, but so many of the things I worried about didn’t actually matter,” she said. “For example, I spent way too much time on our pre-ceremony music... and then I didn’t even hear it!”

Her advice? Focus on what truly matters to you and your partner. And don’t be afraid to make your own traditions like DIY’ing your florals. “The day before the wedding, my bridal party and I made all the bouquets and altar pieces ourselves. It was such a special experience every bridesmaid created something personal, and it’s a memory I’ll always treasure.”
